National Museum of Lithuania

The National Museum of Lithuania was established in 1952. The museum presents the way of life of Lithuanians from the 13th century to the present in physical form, including many items unearthed from archaeological excavations. The museum also features numerous small buildings constructed later, which vividly depict the lives of Lithuanians from different regions across various historical periods. The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on other days.

The National Museum of Lithuania is mainly divided into five exhibition areas: the History and Contemporary History Section, the Archaeology Section, the Ethnography Section, the Numismatics Section, and the Portrait Section. It houses a total of 800,000 exhibits covering various periods, allowing visitors to gain a comprehensive understanding of Lithuania’s development history. It attracts a large number of domestic and international visitors every year.
