Museum of Devils

The Museum of Devils is located in Kaunas, Lithuania's second-largest city and former capital, and is primarily dedicated to collecting and exhibiting devil sculptures and carvings from around the world. It is the only museum of its kind in the world. As of 2009, the Museum of Devils had amassed a collection of approximately 3,000 devil-themed artworks. The establishment of this museum was originally initiated by Lithuanian painter Antanas Žmuidzinavičius (1876–1966) in 1906. After his death, a memorial museum was set up in his former residence, which at the time housed only 260 devil sculptures.

Over time, the collection of devil artworks at the Museum of Devils grew significantly, leading to the construction of an additional three-story exhibition hall in 1982. The museum boasts a rich and diverse collection from various cultural backgrounds, including some as works of art, others as practical objects, some representing folk myths, and others reflecting modern political views. For example, one sculpture depicts Hitler and Stalin as devils dancing a macabre death dance over a field of corpses.
