Ancient Beekeeping Museum of Lithuania

The Ancient Beekeeping Museum of Lithuania is situated in the northeastern region of Lithuania. Founded in 1984 as part of Aukštaitija National Park, it was established by beekeeper Bronius Kazlas and primarily showcases the region’s beekeeping history.

In 2006, the museum had six main buildings, over 500 exhibits, and 25 sculptures that depicted the origins and myths of bees from various regions. Aside from presenting the history of beekeeping in Lithuania, some wooden carvings also feature beehives. The museum displays glass beehives that allow visitors to observe the work of bees more clearly, as well as their crucial role in pollination. Visitors can also see different types of beehives used by beekeepers from the 15th to the 20th century, reflecting the progress and development of beekeeping techniques. Guests can learn how bees collect nectar, explore the tools used by beekeepers, and discover the various benefits of bee products for humans.
