Lithuanian Art Museum

The Lithuanian Art Museum is located in Vilnius. Established in 1933 as the Lithuanian City Museum, it is the largest art museum in Lithuania and consists of numerous branch museums, making it the premier venue for appreciating artworks in the country.

The Lithuanian Art Museum boasts a rich and varied collection that can be categorized into three major types: fine arts, applied arts, and folk arts. The fine arts collection includes oil paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries, 20th-century paintings, Lithuanian prints, sculptures, watercolors and gouaches, as well as art photography. Among these, there are over 2,500 oil paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries and more than 8,000 prints from the 15th to 20th centuries, created by artists from various countries. The applied arts collection features archaeological ceramics, antique ceramics, amber, metalwork, porcelain, glassware, textiles, leather goods, furniture, coins, and clocks. The folk arts section includes folk applied arts, folk fine arts, and folk textiles, with a dazzling array of items that are truly breathtaking.
