Klaipėda is located in the western part of Lithuania, bordering the Baltic Sea to the west and near the mouth of the Nemunas River. It is Lithuania’s only seaport on the Baltic Sea. The city is the third largest in Lithuania and the capital of Klaipėda County.

Klaipėda features picturesquely beautiful architecture, with historic buildings from the 13th to 18th centuries that resemble the architectural styles of Germany, England, and Denmark. In addition, nearby Neringa and Palanga are very popular seaside resort destinations in Lithuania. The 34-story building constructed in 2007 is the most famous local landmark, and its majestic presence can be seen from afar. The Klaipėda Castle, established by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century, is one of the must-visit attractions. On one side, the waves of the Baltic Sea continuously lap the shore, while the other side is surrounded by the Curonian Lagoon. The Curonian Spit, where strong winds and excessive logging have made the dunes highly unstable, is also a stunning natural landscape. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000, with the northern half belonging to Lithuania and the southern half to Russia.

Klaipėda also offers attractions such as the old Castle Museum, the renowned Lithuanian Maritime and Dolphinarium Museum, and the quirky Clock Museum, all brimming with fun and waiting to be explored by visitors.
