Attraction Introduction

The Open-Air Folk Museum is located in the suburbs of Riga, the capital of Latvia. It is a massive folk village from the 19th century, featuring 120 wooden houses gathered from four major regions of the country. As soon as you step into this 1520-acre folk village, you are instantly transported back to the rural life of Latvia in the 18th and 19th centuries. Continuing the tradition, it has fostered generations of “down-to-earth, dependable Latvians,” widely praised around the world.

And the warm, natural romantic spirit has also allowed Latvians to create another side of life for themselves. This is Jurmala, a resort destination located 25 kilometers west of Riga.
