Riga Motor Museum The largest antique motor vehicle museum among the countries bordering the Baltic Sea, established in 1989 at the initiative of the Latvian Antique Car Club. The Riga Motor Museum building was designed and constructed by architect Viktors Valgums of the State Design Institute of Latvia, and the museum houses a café and a sports club, among other facilities.

Since 1992, the Riga Motor Museum has been a national-level museum, operated and managed by the Latvian Ministry of Transport. It is widely known across Europe and the rest of the world. Since 1992, the museum has been a member of the International Association of Transport and Communication Museums; since 1994, it has been a member of the Latvian Museum Association; and since 2002, it has also been a member of the Latvian Association for Transport Development and Education.

The Riga Motor Museum displays vehicles produced in different eras, including classic luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce and Soviet-era cars. Vehicles used by former Soviet leaders are also on exhibit, such as Stalin’s personal car — which even includes a wax figure of Stalin inside the vehicle itself. One of the most noteworthy cars in the museum is the 1938 Auto Union Type D race car, which was rescued from being scrapped thanks to the efforts of Viktors Kulbergs, the chairman of the Latvian Antique Car Club.
