Riga

Riga is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Daugava River. It is the capital of Latvia and the largest city in the Baltic states. The city serves as the main political, economic, cultural, educational, and industrial hub of the Baltic nations, earning the nicknames “the beating heart of the Baltic Sea” and “the Paris of the North.”

Riga is divided into the Old Town and the New Town. The Old Town, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as the Historic Centre of Riga, preserves many ancient buildings with ingenious structures and exquisite exteriors. The New Town is situated along the picturesque curve of the City Canal, covered in greenery and blooming flowers, often referred to as the “Beauty of Europe.” Locals fondly call it the “City of Flowers.” The New Town has a strong modern vibe, with wide and neat streets, magnificent architecture, and numerous fountains, monuments, and sculptures.
