Attraction Introduction

Aveiro Stadium is located in the suburbs of Aveiro and is known as the "City Park." For this European Championship, the stadium underwent expansion, with multifunctional canopies added to the seats. The stadium also includes a swimming pool, a golf course, leisure areas, and six hotels. Previously, the stadium could only accommodate 14,000 spectators, but for the European Championship, it was expanded to hold over 30,000 seats. The four stands of the stadium are independent and fully equipped with facilities. The structure of the pitch and its colorful design add considerable vibrancy to the stadium.

Aveiro Stadium is well situated both geographically and environmentally. The expanded stadium was first used on November 15, 2003, when Portugal and Greece played to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match that marked the official inauguration of Aveiro Stadium. 30,000 spectators attended the game and celebrated Cristiano Ronaldo’s 100th appearance for the Portuguese national team.
