Known for its indulgence, trendiness, and creativity, W Hotel has always been the exclamation mark travelers long for when staying abroad. In early 2018, a large W will rise in Brisbane’s bustling city center, overlooking the Brisbane River and bringing a new interpretation of modern luxury to the city.

W Hotel is an internationally renowned hotel brand under Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., one of the world’s largest hotel groups. Headquartered in New York, USA, the group includes nine major brands such as W Hotel, Sheraton, Westin, and Le Méridien, each with its own unique philosophy and appeal. W Hotel consistently integrates elements like fashion, music, and innovative design boldly into art and pop culture, while also incorporating local characteristics to become a hub of urban entertainment. Since the opening of its first property in 1998, W Hotel has evolved into a globally significant landmark, with over 44 hotels across major cities and exotic travel destinations worldwide.

Brisbane’s W Hotel is part of a joint development project by Shayher Leisure Holdings Pty Ltd and Taiwan’s Pao Chia Construction. The signing of this hotel construction plan with Starwood carries the passion and energy of W Hotel’s return to Australia, aiming to showcase cutting-edge design, fashion, and music to a new generation of travelers. The development includes three separate towers, with W Hotel occupying one, while the other two will serve as high-end office and commercial spaces, as well as premium residences.

For Starwood, the Brisbane W Hotel is a significant milestone. Andrew Taylor, Director of Acquisitions and Development for Starwood in the Pacific region, said: “We have been looking for the right location and partners to bring W Hotel back to Australia; and as an emerging, vibrant, and international city, Brisbane provides the perfect opportunity for W Hotel to re-enter this market.”

In the future, W Hotel will offer 305 stylish rooms, including 25 suites and an “Extreme Wow Suite” that redefines the traditional presidential suite. The hotel’s facilities will also be top-notch, featuring over 960 square meters of ultra-modern meeting and event space, a 24-hour business center with wired internet access, a spa, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, an indoor heated pool, and a W Hotel shop. Additionally, there will be an all-day dining restaurant, a poolside bar, and a uniquely styled W Lounge.
