Known as the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton Island is the most popular holiday destination among the 74 islands and islets of the Whitsunday Islands. It boasts stunning scenery, exquisite wines and cuisine, the top-tier Hamilton Island Golf Club—the closest to the Great Barrier Reef—and a multifunctional marina club. Famous attractions such as Heart Reef and Whitehaven Beach are also nearby. Hamilton Island serves as a key transportation hub for the Great Barrier Reef, with its docks bustling with various yachts and ferries. Its commercial airport allows travelers to fly directly to the island from major Australian cities, offering highly convenient access.
Currently, the Qantas Group operates a total of 40 weekly round-trip flights between Hamilton Island and Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Cairns. The newly added Brisbane direct flight not only highlights the booming tourism growth in the region but also provides greater flexibility for those traveling to and from the Whitsunday Islands from within Queensland.
