Dazzling and Magnificent Art Show – Brisbane Festival 2013 “Reflects the World”

As one of Australia’s most prestigious annual festivals, this year’s Brisbane Festival brings together artists, dancers, musicians, and acrobats from around the world, including the UK, the US, France, and Iceland. With over 85 works and 450 performances expected, the festival will grandly debut in Australia from September 7 to 28.

Since 1996, to promote the development of the arts, the Queensland and Brisbane city governments have collaborated to organize the Brisbane Festival. Originally held biennially, it has gradually become one of the most highly acclaimed international arts festivals through continuous promotion, and since 2009, it has changed from a biennial to an annual event.

“We live in a challenging time, especially for today’s youth, who face issues that transcend race and language—anything can happen to them. But even so, we should still maintain optimism, positivity, creativity, and vitality. This is also the spirit the Brisbane Festival aims to convey,” said Noel Staunton, the Artistic Director of this year’s Brisbane Festival. Hence, this year’s festival will adopt the theme of “Reflects the World.”

Additionally, the most talked-about event is the grand finale fireworks show – Sunsuper Riverfire. The colorful and uniquely shaped fireworks burst brilliantly in the night sky like the most dazzling art. The Queensland government has also fully sponsored the spectacular nightly laser light show “City of Lights,” which takes place at New Santos GLNG City, turning Brisbane into a city that never sleeps. Day and night, artists will present the art of “Reflects the World” together with visitors.

The Brisbane Festival is expected to attract over one million visitors for this cultural pilgrimage.
