Estoril

Estoril is a civil parish in the Lisbon District of Portugal, located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, 25 kilometers from the capital city of Lisbon. It is a well-known seaside resort in central-western Portugal. In the 19th century, Estoril served as the royal summer retreat of Portugal.

Estoril’s most celebrated feature is its coastline. The town faces the sea to the south, and during the 15th and 16th-century Age of Exploration, countless ships set sail from here into the vast Atlantic. The nearby shoreline is lined with numerous bars, cafés, and restaurants. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the open sea, while the coastal area is perfect for leisurely strolls and cycling to take in the seaside scenery. Not far away, the simple fishermen, rocks in the sea, flying seabirds, ocean-going sailboats, and the endless sea form an enchanting picture.

The area is also famous for its casino. Inside the gambling venue, people gather, hoping their coins will bring them good luck. Additionally, the casino regularly hosts cultural performances and art exhibitions.
