The Site of the Headquarters of the First Cavalry Division of Inner Mongolia is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

The Site of the Headquarters of the First Cavalry Division of Inner Mongolia is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Wuyi North Road and Puhui East Street in Ulanhot City, Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia.

Originally the private residence of a regimental commander of the puppet Hinggan Army, the site was repurposed after the disbandment of the First Cavalry Division of Inner Mongolia. It now serves as the office building of the Xing'an Detachment of the Inner Mongolia Road Administration Law Enforcement and Inspection Corps.

On August 11, 1945, a group of Mongolian young officers and students from the Japanese puppet Manchukuo Army Hinggan Officers' School killed Japanese officers on Beishan Mountain of Taolaotu in Gehua Temple and staged an armed uprising. On October 2, 1945, with the uprising soldiers as the backbone, the Central Police Battalion of Hinggan was established in Wangyemiao. Soon after, it was renamed the Wangyemiao Garrison Battalion. On December 1, 1945, the Wangyemiao Garrison Battalion was expanded into the Wangyemiao Garrison Command, consisting of three battalions, with Dugu'erzhab serving as the commander.

On February 15, 1946, the First Cavalry Division of the East Mongolian People's Autonomous Army was established on the basis of the Wangyemiao Garrison Command, with Modeltu as the division commander, Dugu'erzhab as the chief of staff, and a total of over 2,000 troops. After the "April 3" meeting in Chengde in 1946, the First Cavalry Division of the East Mongolian People's Autonomous Army was renamed the First Cavalry Division of the Inner Mongolian People's Self-Defense Army, with Commander Wang Haishan and Political Commissar Hu Bingquan. On January 1, 1948, the Inner Mongolian People's Self-Defense Army was renamed the First Cavalry Division of the Inner Mongolian People's Liberation Army, with Commander Wang Haishan and Political Commissar Hu Zhaoheng. On May 13, 1949, the Inner Mongolian People's Liberation Army was incorporated into the People's Liberation Army system, and the First Cavalry Division of Inner Mongolia was designated as the First Cavalry Division of the Inner Mongolian Military District of the People's Liberation Army, with Commander Wang Haishan and Political Commissar Dugu'erzhab.

On November 20, 1950, the People's Liberation Army Inner Mongolian Military District decided to disband the First Cavalry Division of Inner Mongolia and redistribute its troops to the Xilin Gol Military Sub-district and the Chahar Military Sub-district. With this, the First Cavalry Division of Inner Mongolia completed its historical mission.
