Attraction Introduction   A major port city on the Pacific coast of Russia. It borders the Sea of Japan and is located on the shores of Nakhodka Bay, southwest of America Bay in the southern part of Primorsky Krai. The population was 150,000 in 1985. Construction began in 1938, with the first phase completed in 1958. It has 19 berths with a depth of 11.5 meters and an oil port. Two-thirds of the foreign trade cargo volume in Russia’s Far East is exported through this port. In 1979, the cargo throughput reached 10 million tons, with main exports including coal, cement, timber, potash, ore, and crude oil. It is also a fishing port. The city hosts shipbuilding and repair facilities, fish processing plants, and canneries. Features   Deep waters with calm waves and relatively light ice conditions.
