Attractions Introduction
According to chronicles, the city was founded in 937. In 1591, the young Tsarevich Dmitry, the last heir of the Rurik dynasty, died here under mysterious circumstances. This event led to the beginning of the Time of Troubles in Russia. Features: Uglich is a small town, which in Russian means "corner," named for its geographical location. Despite its small size, it enjoys great fame. Although the inner city complex has suffered significant damage, its beauty and tranquility are sure to move you.
