The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts is located in Moscow and is the second-largest museum in Russia for foreign artworks, as well as the largest European art museum in the city. Construction began in 1898 and was completed in 1912. In 1937, it was renamed the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of the Russian poet Pushkin.

The museum’s main building has a classical façade with six columns and is surrounded by a colonnade. The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts houses a collection of over 640,000 items, making it one of Russia’s largest museums showcasing global art. The collection includes approximately 3,000 paintings, 350,000 prints and drawings, over 100,000 coins and medals, and thousands of artifacts and sculptures. Among its holdings, works by French Impressionist painters and ancient Egyptian art are particularly renowned. Additionally, the museum has an extensive collection of replicas of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman sculptures, archaeological finds, as well as authentic artworks from Western Europe and Russia.

The museum's collection of more than 3,000 paintings includes Byzantine icons, oil paintings by Botticelli, Rembrandt, Rubens, and others, landscapes by the Barbizon School, as well as works by Impressionist painters and masters such as Van Gogh, Matisse, and Picasso.
