Ostankino Tower

Ostankino Tower is a television and radio tower in Moscow, Russia, standing at 540 meters tall, making it the second tallest tower in the world after the CN Tower in Canada. It is one of Moscow’s landmarks and also a member of the World Federation of Great Towers.

Ostankino Tower is currently the fourth tallest building in the world, after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (828 meters), the KVLY-TV mast in North Dakota, USA (628.8 meters), and the CN Tower. Construction of Ostankino Tower began in 1963 and was completed in 1967. Its design was created by Soviet architects and resembles an inverted lily with its stem.

Ostankino Tower currently broadcasts a total of 15 TV channels, 14 radio channels, and other channels. It weighs 51,400 metric tons, has 45 floors, and its main observation deck is located at 337 meters, featuring three restaurants. The tower also appears in the novels "Night Watch" and "Day Watch" by Russian author Sergei Lukyanenko.
