Central Air Force Museum

The Central Air Force Museum is located 40 kilometers east of Moscow, Russia. Opened to the public in 1958, it is one of the largest aviation museums in the world, covering an area of 20 hectares including the airfield, and is the museum with the largest collection of Russian aircraft.

The aircraft on display at the Central Air Force Museum are arranged according to the names of their design bureaus, while items in the exhibition halls are displayed in chronological order. Currently, the museum exhibits a total of 173 Russian aircraft and 127 Russian engines from the Soviet era to the present. It also displays related air force weapons, aerospace instruments, uniforms/clothing of air force personnel, artworks, as well as other aerospace-related documents and objects. The museum houses a library that features books, films, photos, and other artifacts related to Soviet aerospace. Retired pilots are also available to provide guided tours. Please note that the museum is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays, and a small fee is required for photography or video recording.
