Dolgoprudny is a city in the central part of Moscow Oblast, Russia, located 20 kilometers northwest of Moscow. Its name comes from the elongated lake in the northeastern part of the city. Established as a city in 1957, it was once a manufacturing base for Soviet spacecraft.

The economy of Dolgoprudny is primarily driven by industry, including machinery manufacturing, engineering, chemical processing, and more. Thanks to its proximity to Moscow and its favorable geographical location, commerce and real estate have developed rapidly. The city serves as an important educational hub in central Moscow Oblast and currently hosts the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. It not only features a physics center but also houses many institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences within its science city.
