The Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp (Cathedral of Our Lady, Antwerp) is the tallest Gothic church in Belgium. Construction began in late 1352 and was not fully completed until 1521. Although it took so long and involved numerous architects, the overall architectural style is remarkably consistent and harmonious. The most striking part of the church is its tall tower, which stands 123 meters high, and the intricate decorations on the tower are breathtaking.

The overall exterior of the church remains well-preserved to this day. The main portal features statues from the 13th century depicting figures such as Moses and John from the Bible. Although many colors have faded, the level of detail is still astounding. The interior of the church is solemn and majestic, with many medieval frescoes adorning the stone pillars. The most famous of these is the Rose Window, whose stained glass depicts cosmic imagery based on different seasons and months, creating an intricate and magnificent effect. The church houses many religious paintings, including masterpieces by Rubens such as the altarpieces "The Elevation of the Cross," "The Descent from the Cross," and "The Assumption of the Virgin."

Inside the church is a towering bell tower. Climbing the 232 steps leading to the bell tower offers a panoramic view of the majestic Alps, the shimmering Lake Geneva, and the entire city of Lausanne. What makes this bell tower particularly unique is that it preserves the world’s only surviving “nocturnal watch” tradition.
