Turnhout is a city located in the province of Antwerp, Belgium, renowned for its playing card industry. The headquarters of Cartamundi, the world’s largest producer of playing cards, is situated here. The city lies approximately 42 kilometers from Antwerp and 30 kilometers from the Dutch city of Breda, and it is also an important economic and cultural center.

Notable attractions in Turnhout include the 12th-century Castle of the Dukes of Brabant, the Gothic Church of St. Peter, the Beguinage dating back to the 13th century, the 14th-century Gothic Chapel of Theobald, and the Taxandria Museum housed in a precious Renaissance estate. Among these, the Beguinage has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998 as part of the Flemish Béguinages. The Playing Card Museum is the most intriguing museum in the area, located in an old factory and featuring a restored steam engine.
