Space City

Space City is located in the Parc de la Plaine, east of Toulouse in southern France. Officially opened to the public as an aviation museum in September 1997, it has now become an astronomy-themed park in southern France focused on aviation education and entertainment. Toulouse is considered the capital of European aviation and aerospace, and it is also home to the headquarters of Airbus, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer. The A380 passenger plane, ordered by many countries including China, is assembled at the Toulouse factory.

Approaching Space City, visitors can see from afar the full-scale 53-meter model of the Ariane 5 rocket standing tall within the park, quietly overlooking guests who have traveled from far and wide. It is a great destination for exploration, experimentation, and learning about the universe. Activities in the park revolve around three centers: the Park, the Planetarium, and the Exhibition Hall. The Planetarium features many 3D-programmed installations, including a dedicated Mars exhibition room. The Exhibition Hall hosts seven themed exhibits ranging from Earth to the farthest reaches of the stars, allowing visitors to gain a broader understanding of the cosmos. The famous Mir Space Station exhibit showcases various aspects of life aboard a space station, offering insight into the daily lives and work of astronauts living there.
