Tigerair Taiwan launches Kaohsiung-Fukuoka route: 3 flights per week initially, increasing to 5 from March 25, 2018

The fifth international route from Kaohsiung operated by Tigerair Taiwan: the Kaohsiung-Fukuoka route launched on the 18th, also marking the airline’s fourth Japanese route from Kaohsiung. Initially, there will be three flights per week, increasing to five per week starting March 25, 2018. To celebrate the inaugural flight, Tigerair Taiwan is offering exclusive postcards and voucher redemptions for Don Quijote Fukuoka Tenjin Main Store lucky bags and JR Kyushu ramen to passengers on the first flight.

In the initial phase of the Kaohsiung-Fukuoka route, there will be three flights per week. The outbound flight IT270 departs from Kaohsiung Airport at 15:15 (15:20 on Mondays) every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. The return flight IT271 departs from Fukuoka Airport at 19:55 (19:50 on Mondays) every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Tigerair Taiwan also announced that starting March 25, 2018, the Kaohsiung-Fukuoka route will increase to five flights per week. In addition to Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, flights will be added on Wednesdays and Saturdays, allowing travelers more flexible itinerary options.

Tigerair Taiwan’s currently operating Taoyuan-Fukuoka route has been in service since January 28, 2016, with one daily flight. With the launch of the Kaohsiung-Fukuoka route, it will not only benefit southern Taiwan travelers but also allow Japanese tourists to freely combine entries and exits between northern and southern Taiwan cities, enjoying both destinations in one trip and enriching their Taiwan experience.

On the 18th, Tigerair Taiwan held an inaugural ceremony in the departure lounge of Kaohsiung International Airport, presided over by Tigerair Taiwan’s Chief Commercial Officer, Shyh-Huey Huang. Witnesses included Tseng Tzu-wen, Director of the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau; Sun I-chung, Deputy Director of Kaohsiung International Airport; Hsu Tsung-min, Director of the Kaohsiung International Airport Passenger Service Center under the Tourism Bureau; and Lee Yi-chou, General Manager of China Airlines’ Kaohsiung Branch. They gathered to mark this important moment of Tigerair Taiwan expanding to a new destination and to welcome more international visitors to Taiwan via its convenient flights.

All passengers on the inaugural flight IT270 of Tigerair Taiwan’s Kaohsiung-Fukuoka route received one specially designed inaugural postcard, along with one voucher for redeeming a Don Quijote Fukuoka Tenjin Main Store lucky bag and one JR Kyushu ramen voucher.

Passengers can redeem a lucky bag worth 800 yen at Don Quijote Tenjin Main Store by presenting their Tigerair boarding pass and making a purchase of over 5,000 yen (tax excluded). There are 300 limited editions available. From December 18, 2017, to January 31, 2018, those who purchase a JR Kyushu Pass and show the ramen voucher can get one free bowl of ramen at designated ramen shops.

Tigerair Taiwan’s 11th brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft arrived in Taiwan last week from the original factory in Toulouse, France. The average fleet age is about 2.5 years, making it the airline with the youngest fleet in Asia. Each aircraft is configured with 180 seats.
