Tigerair Taiwan announced it will launch flights to Tokyo Narita on April 2. To support the expansion of new routes and celebrate the arrival of a new aircraft, Tigerair Taiwan collaborated with Chinese-American designer Daniel Wong to host an autumn/winter fashion show this afternoon (30th) in a hangar, transforming the aircraft into a backdrop for the runway and the cabin into the backstage area.

Tigerair Taiwan’s third brand-new Airbus A320-200 aircraft departed from its manufacturer in Toulouse, France, and arrived safely in Taiwan on March 28. Immediately afterward, the aircraft’s body painting work commenced. Tigerair Taiwan, together with Daniel Wong, coordinated over 150 professionals including maintenance staff, ground crews, stagehands, lighting and sound technicians, overcoming hardware and software limitations within the hangar. It took two days of preparation to deliver a 30-minute performance.
Li Ming-yan, Associate Manager of Tigerair Taiwan’s Marketing Management Department, said that as the A320 is a single-aisle aircraft, models had to change outfits within just 30 seconds in the limited space of the seats and move on to the next look, all while ensuring their outfits didn’t scratch the seat covers — a challenging process. Additionally, the original China Airlines factory had to be completely shut down to accommodate the fashion show.

Over 400 guests were invited to this joint fashion show. Dozens of large buses were dispatched from Taipei to the Taoyuan event venue. The event kicked off with a performance by singer Wei Ruyun, followed by models emerging from the aircraft cabin. The dazzling lighting effects illuminated the Tigerair Taiwan aircraft, and Li Ming-yan noted that Daniel Wong drew inspiration from stars, the moon, and the universe — themes closely aligned with Tigerair Taiwan’s brand philosophy. The collaboration also aimed to showcase innovative expression and introduce the local budget airline to travelers.
