Aleppo National Museum

Aleppo National Museum is the largest museum in Aleppo. Established in 1931, it is an archaeological museum with most of its collections originating from archaeological sites in northern Syria. The museum displays artifacts from various periods of Libyan history, though the focus is primarily on the Iron Age.

The first floor of the museum is divided into two parts: Prehistoric History and Ancient Syrian Civilizations. The Prehistoric History section includes many Stone Age tools discovered in Aleppo and Ebla, as well as the oldest known human dwellings brought from Tell Mureybet. The Ancient Syrian Civilizations section exhibits the historical cultures of different regions of Syria according to their respective areas and eras, such as Bronze Age items from Hama, sculptures and cuneiform scripts from Mari, among others. The second floor is divided into three sections: Ancient Monuments, Islamic-Arab Cultural History, and Modern Art. The courtyard is also part of the museum's exhibition space, featuring basalt statues from the ancient Hittites and Romans.
