Kuala Selangor Nature Park

Kuala Selangor Nature Park is located in the state of Selangor. Established in 1987, it covers an area of 240 hectares and was created as a nature reserve to protect the flora and fauna of the region. It is a tourist destination that emphasizes natural greening.

The park's geographical environment is mostly wetland, consisting of secondary forests, mangroves, the estuary of the Selangor River, mudflats, and more. These areas serve as natural habitats for a wide variety of flora and fauna. The park aims to provide shelter and monitoring for the species living in these environments. Kuala Selangor Nature Park is world-renowned as a bird sanctuary, with around 130 recorded species of birds, including rare wading birds such as the spoon-billed Sandpiper and the Nordmann’s Greenshank. Among these over 130 bird species, the majority are migratory seasonal birds.

In addition to birds, there is also a diverse range of insects, spiders, mollusks, crabs, fish, reptiles, and mammals. The park is also equipped with special facilities for birdwatching, including hides, walking trails, observation towers, as well as educational boardwalks and chalets.
