The full name of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque is Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, commonly known as the Blue Mosque due to its blue and white domes. It is a mosque located in Shah Alam, the capital city of Selangor, Malaysia. The mosque was initiated in 1974 by the then Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Salahuddin, when Selangor's capital was newly relocated to this area. Construction began in 1982 and the mosque was completed on March 11, 1988.

The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque blends Malaysian and modern architectural styles, featuring innovative design with a color scheme dominated by blue and white. Its majestic exterior exudes solemnity and reverence. With a capacity to accommodate 24,000 worshippers during Friday prayers, it is the largest mosque in Malaysia and the second-largest in Southeast Asia after Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque in Indonesia. The mosque’s gleaming dome is made of blue aluminum, with a diameter of 51.2 meters and a height of 106.7 meters, making it the largest of its kind among religious buildings worldwide. The main prayer hall has two levels, carpeted in red and adorned with Islamic calligraphy of the Quran, showcasing exceptional artistic value. It is one of the largest prayer halls in the world.

The four minarets on the exterior of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque stand at 142.3 meters tall—second only to the minarets of the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco—but still rank as the tallest group of minarets in the world.
