Sepang International Circuit

Sepang International Circuit is a racetrack located in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. The circuit is renowned for its beautiful racing track, pit lane, media center, and main grandstand. It was designed by the famous German designer Hermann Tilke and completed in November 1998. Thanks to its excellent venue facilities, it has become a blueprint and model for many newly built circuits.

The circuit design takes both drivers and spectators into account. The designers created a "banana leaf"-shaped roof for the main grandstand, inspired by spacecraft design. The main spectator area can accommodate 30,000 people, while other areas can hold up to 80,000. The main circuit usually runs races in a clockwise direction and is approximately 5.54 kilometers long, known for its sweeping corners and wide straights. Its layout is also quite unique, featuring an unusually long and tight hairpin turn. Additionally, the Sepang Circuit can host races in alternative configurations — the northern half of the main circuit can be used independently, running clockwise and measuring 2.71 kilometers; the southern half can also hold separate races, also clockwise, spanning 2.61 kilometers.

Major events hosted at Sepang International Circuit include the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix, A1 Grand Prix, and the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix.
