Petaling Jaya is located in the Petaling District of Selangor State and developed as a satellite city of Kuala Lumpur. It was elevated to city status in 2006. As Malaysia’s most humid city, with an average annual temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, it is suitable for living and makes for a great travel destination.

The Selangor State Arch is the most significant landmark in Petaling Jaya. Situated along the Federal Highway, it serves as the boundary between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, acting as a symbolic divider, and is the largest arch in Malaysia. Residents of various religious faiths in Petaling Jaya can find places of worship that suit their beliefs. Muslims can visit the newly built mosque, Roman Catholics can go to St. Francis Xavier Church, Church of the Assumption, and Church of St. Ignatius, while Buddhists may head to Wat Chetawan. Wat Chetawan is a well-known Thai Buddhist temple that is very popular among the Buddhist community. Established in 1956, it is the most prominent Buddhist structure in Petaling Jaya.
