Rather than just a small shop, Katong Antique House is more like Peter Wee’s private museum. A fourth-generation Peranakan Baba, Peter has long been dedicated to the preservation and collection of cultural relics, all to ensure that future generations remember their roots. The Katong Antique House was founded based on this very ideal.

Although Katong Antique House has only two floors, the items it houses are rich and diverse, collected by Peter Wee across Singapore and Malaysia. Many of them are not for sale and are displayed purely for exhibition purposes. Only the front section of the house is open for sales; the inner hall, backyard, and upstairs items are part of the owner’s private collection. The vast variety and quantity are truly impressive, reflecting his deep passion. Visitors can admire a wide range of antiques here, including beaded slippers, Nyonya women's shoes, traditional wedding attire, pottery, furniture, gold jewelry, antique clocks, paintings, old lamps, calligraphy, as well as kitchenware and spices used specifically by the Straits Chinese, such as belachan and curry powder – the latter being available for purchase.

Please note that visiting Katong Antique House or purchasing items requires advance booking by phone. One of the highlights of the shop is the custom-made Peranakan attire, and it also sells exquisite Peranakan pastries.
