Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is located in Singapore’s Chinatown. Established in 2002 by Venerable Shi Fa Zhao, it was constructed in the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty to house a sacred Buddhist relic — the Buddha’s tooth. The relic is enshrined within a 320-kilogram solid gold stupa, funded by devotees.

Since its opening to the public, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum has become a prominent tourist attraction in Chinatown, drawing visitors daily. In addition to adopting the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty, the temple also incorporates design elements of the Buddhist Mandala, giving it a majestic presence. Other key highlights of the temple include the Buddhist Culture Museum and the Ji Guang Hall — a memorial hall for portraits of eminent monastic leaders. The temple also regularly hosts performances, lectures, and exhibitions. Admission to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is free, and it is open daily from 7:00 to 19:00.
