Incheon Freedom Park

Incheon Freedom Park is situated on Eungbong Mountain in Songhak-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City. It was originally called Universal Park and later referred to by Japanese forces as West Park (in contrast to East Park, which they used as a shrine). On October 3, 1957, a bronze statue of General Douglas MacArthur, who led the Inchon Landing, was installed in the park, and the park has been called Freedom Park ever since.

Incheon Freedom Park is serene and expansive, with beautiful scenery that changes with the seasons. From the park, visitors can enjoy views of Incheon city and the surrounding mountains and sea. Every local loves to hike up to the highest point for panoramic views. The park’s plaza is also famous as a haven for pigeons, attracting many tourists who enjoy feeding them and watching them flutter about.
