Yongsan Family Park

Yongsan Family Park is located on Yongsan 6-gil in Yongsan-dong, Yongsan District, Seoul. It was developed on the former site of the United States Forces Korea headquarters and serves as a family-friendly park that combines green spaces, a lotus pond, and a sculpture park. The park features numerous works of art, with sculptures along the walking paths created not only by Korean artists but also by creators from Germany, Switzerland, Canada, and other countries around the world. In October 2005, the opening of the National Museum of Korea within the park further boosted its fame.

Yongsan Family Park is well known for its many sculptures. As soon as visitors enter the park gate, they will see a “man” precariously perched high on a frame, seemingly about to topple — this is the work Beyond by the renowned German sculptor Post Bonn von Golz. Further along, visitors can admire a piece called Handmade Hand, created by a French artist using traditional Korean roof tiles to form the shape of a hand, which is truly unique. These artworks not only add a rich cultural atmosphere to the park but are also favorite spots for visitors to take photos.
