Banpo Hangang Park

Centered around the Banpo Bridge and located on the southern bank of the Han River, Banpo Hangang Park features sports facilities such as water polo fields, soccer fields, and basketball courts, making it a popular public park. From the observation deck of the Chamsori Gramophone Museum Café on the south side of Tongjak Bridge, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the river and the surrounding cityscape.

In particular, the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, installed on both sides of the bridge in Banpo Hangang Park, has a total length of 1,140 meters and was recognized as the world’s longest bridge fountain by the Guinness World Records in 2008. At night, the fountain’s water jets are illuminated by over 200 lights, creating a spectacular rainbow-like display.

Adjacent to Banpo Hangang Park is Banpo Island, situated between the Banpo and Tongjak Bridges, which offers spaces for rest and recreation. Every spring, the area transforms into a golden field of rapeseed flowers, and the “Banpo Butterfly & Rapeseed Flower Festival,” held around this time, attracts numerous visitors and locals seeking leisure and enjoyment.

In addition, Banpo Hangang Park provides many experiential facilities such as an ecological learning center, boat docks, and bicycle paths, making it a great destination for all to explore.

Special Notes

The rainbow fountain is closed during rainy weather, high tides on the Han River, or other special circumstances.
