The soon-to-end Korean drama *Descendants of the Sun* has not only boosted the popularity of Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, but also sparked a trend in Korea of joining the military and taking photos in military uniforms; the filming spots from *Descendants* have become the latest hot destinations for fans to follow their idols.

Most of *Descendants* was filmed in Greece, but several iconic scenes were shot in Korea. These include the Taebaek Hambak Coal Mine area where the dispatch camp was located, and the earthquake scenes in Ulleung, which were filmed in Seoraksan. With Song Joong-ki set to become Korea’s tourism ambassador, it’s expected that the *Descendants* craze will continue. *ETtoday News Cloud* has compiled a list of Korean filming locations from the drama, giving “Song’s Wives” and fans the chance to visit these real-life sets.

Taebaek Hambak Coal Mine Mining Area
Filming location: Dispatch troops' camp; scenes of Yoo Si-jin and Kang Mo-yeon talking and saluting
Key features: Located in Taebaek City, Gangwon Province, the Hambak mining area was formerly the site of the Hambak Mining Company. Medical facilities and a church built for the drama have since been dismantled, but there are plans to rebuild the site for fans to visit.

Samtan Art Mine
Filming location: Ulleung earthquake scenes, special forces bathing scenes, secret base scenes
Key features: Selected as one of Korea’s top 100 must-visit tourist destinations, the Samtan Art Mine is an important cultural landmark in Korea. This space, repurposed from an old mine, showcases many contemporary artworks while preserving the history of the mine.
Address: 1445-44, Hambyeongsan-ro, Gohan-eup, Seongsan-gun, Gangwon-do
Transportation: Take a bus from Gohan Seobu Public Bus Terminal bound for Sanggye or Manhang, get off at Chigok Station, then walk about 450 meters. The bus stop is approximately 7.5 km by taxi from the Samtan Art Mine.

Camp Greaves
Filming location: The camp area of Yoo Si-jin and other Taebaek unit members
Key features: Camp Greaves is a former U.S. military base from the post-Korean War armistice period. After the U.S. military withdrew, it was converted into a restricted-access experience facility and youth hostel. Visitors need to register for a group of 30 or more and book at least two weeks in advance to stay overnight and experience the U.S. military-style architecture up close.

Jeongja-dong Café Street
Filming location: The place where Yoo Si-jin and Seo Dae-young rested and chatted
Key features: Jeongja-dong is a famous coffee street in Korea and the origin of many such districts. Each café has its own unique style. The dal.komm Coffee featured in the drama is located in the first seat to the right after entering, where the two characters rested.

Key features: Park Avenue is a shopping mall full of European flair. Fans can visit for both sightseeing and shopping. And of course, don’t miss the fountain area！

Around Songdo Central Park in Incheon
Shooting location: The spot where Captain Yoo Si-jin reunites with Doctor Kang Mo-yeon.
Key features: Songdo Central Park is a scenic area designed with Incheon’s future in mind, featuring futuristic architecture as well as natural landscapes such as waterways and riverside areas. The dal.komm Coffee within Central Park is the exact location where Captain Yoo and Doctor Kang met.
