Nakatsugawa City

Nakatsugawa City is a city in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, located at the southeastern tip of the prefecture. It was a post town during the Edo period and became a municipality in 1952. It is home to Chukyo Gakuin University.

Nakatsugawa City is home to many shrines, including Ena Shrine, Sakashita Shrine, Izumo Fukuju Shrine, Yamaoka Shrine, Hachiman Shrine, Suwa Shrine, Nakagawa Shrine, Sakurayama Shrine, Yasuhirami Shrine, and Kaze no Kami Shrine, as well as Shimonotsugetsudo. There are also numerous memorial halls, museums, and historical exhibition centers, such as Fujimura Memorial Hall, Magome Waki-Honjin Historical Museum, Seichu Memorial Hall, Kumagai Morikazu Memorial Hall, Nakatsugawa City Mineral Museum, Nakasendo Historical Exhibition Hall, Narakawa Toyama Historical Museum, and Bokuseki-kan. Natural attractions in the area include Mount Ena, Nakatsugawa Onsen, Watariai Onsen, and Fujimidai Plateau.
