A pair of people created a three-legged Guinness World Record in Taiwan recently

To express gratitude for Taiwan’s assistance following the Tohoku earthquake, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Japan will come to Taiwan this June to attempt a Guinness World Record for 600 people with 601 legs. The event will be held at Songshan Riverside Park in Taipei, with participants coming from Aichi, Mie, Shizuoka, and Gifu prefectures.

Approximately 600 members of the 39th JC Youth Ship “Tōkai Maru (Tōkai-go)” delegation, organized by the Junior Chamber International Tokai Regional Council, are scheduled to visit Taiwan on June 5 this year. They plan to set a new Guinness World Record for 600 people with 601 legs at Songshan Riverside Park in Taipei.

The Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism stated that since 1974, this group has organized annual international visits. This year, in appreciation for Taiwan’s aid to Japan following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, they have chosen Taiwan as a stop on their journey. They have planned to attempt the Guinness World Record at Songshan Riverside Park in Taipei’s Songshan District. In addition to the record-attempt participants, around 200 local Taiwanese youths will also be on-site to cheer on the participants.
