Tsuchiura City

Tsuchiura City is a city located in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Adjacent to Tsukuba Science City, it has been designated as a regional core city and is home to Tsukuba International University. The city also enjoys relatively convenient transportation, with both Narita International Airport and Tokyo International Airport being close by.

Every October, Tsuchiura hosts the Tsuchiura National Fireworks Competition, one of Japan’s three major fireworks festivals, which attracts visitors from around the world. It is also a city rich in historical sites, including the Maeno Family Residence, Kamitakatsu Shell Mound, Shinryuji Temple, Junshinji Temple, Hosenji Temple, Yasaka Shrine, Tsuchiya Shrine, Prince Shotoku Hall, Jofukuji Temple, Tōkōji Temple, and Daishōji Temple.
