Glass Café Floating in the Sea – World’s Most Beautiful Station with Breathtaking Ocean Views

Ibaraki Prefecture, located about an hour’s drive from Tokyo, was voted the most boring city in Japan for four consecutive years by Japanese locals. Despite this, there are actually quite a few worthwhile attractions to visit. Ibaraki’s Hitachi Station is hailed as the world’s most beautiful station, and its “Sea Birds Cafe” is like a café floating on the sea, featuring an all-transparent glass curtain wall and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, attracting tourists from around the globe to visit and take photos.

Hitachi Station was designed by contemporary Japanese female architect Kazuyo Sejima, known for her use of white and transparency. The main structure of the station features large transparent glass windows, allowing ample natural light during the day and making the interior spaces very bright, while also offering views of the Pacific Ocean.
