Ohori Wasabi Farm is a wasabi farm located in the suburbs of Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It covers a total area of 15 hectares and yields 150 metric tons of wasabi (commonly known as green horseradish or Japanese mustard) annually. Established in 1917, it is not only the largest wasabi farm in Japan but also the most famous tourist attraction in Azumino, attracting around 1.2 million visitors each year.

Nestled between Mount Hotaka and Hirayu Town, Ohori Wasabi Farm uses meltwater from the Northern Japanese Alps to irrigate its fields, where lush green wasabi terraces are visible throughout. Beyond the picturesque scenery, the farm also features spacious and bright dining restaurants and shops. Visitors can enjoy traditional dishes such as local wasabi soba noodles and wasabi tempura (deep-fried shrimp and vegetables), and also savor delightful surprises like wasabi ice cream and wasabi beer at slightly lower prices than usual.

Ohori Wasabi Farm was once a filming location for the internationally renowned director Akira Kurosawa’s movie “Dream.” The rustic waterwheels built for the film still remain in the farm, attracting many visitors who come specifically to experience scenes from the movie.
