Achi Village in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, has become a popular destination in recent years, attracting many locals to admire its beautiful starry skies. According to an official Japanese survey, this place has even been ranked as the No. 1 stargazing spot in Japan. Since 2012, Achi Village has hosted the special event “Sky Paradise,” allowing visitors to enjoy stunning winter scenery. Wouldn’t it be a perfect trip if you could appreciate the real night sky while also learning more about the universe?
This year is no exception. The village held the “Sky Paradise Winter Night Tour 2017” from December 8, 2017, to March 31, 2018, with the themes of “stars” and “the universe,” offering visitors a full-sensory experience of the beauty of the night sky.
At the center of the square, “CENTER COLONY” features light projections and beautiful music to create a dazzling stargazing show. In addition to telescope viewing, the event emphasizes interactive, tech-based experiences—all themed around the cosmos and starry skies.
