Miramar Ferris Wheel

The Miramar Ferris Wheel is situated atop Miramar Mall, a large-scale multi-purpose shopping center in Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan. It is one of the most popular landmarks in the Greater Taipei area. Though the wheel’s diameter is just 70 meters, it reaches a total height of 100 meters as its base is mounted on the building’s roof (fifth floor) rather than on the ground. This makes it the second tallest Ferris wheel in Taiwan, after Kaohsiung’s Dream Mall Ferris Wheel — the "Eye of Kaohsiung."

The Miramar Ferris Wheel was manufactured by Japan’s Senyo Kogyo and weighs approximately 600 metric tons in total. It features 48 gondolas, including two designed for passengers with disabilities and two transparent gondolas. Each gondola can carry up to six people, allowing the wheel to accommodate 288 passengers at full capacity. The wheel is adorned with 624 neon tubes. When night falls, it is illuminated in green light, and these tubes are used to stage scheduled light shows. With three different themed designs, the displays offer a constantly changing, colorful spectacle. A full ride around the wheel takes about 17 minutes, making it the longest single rotation Ferris wheel in all of Taiwan.
