Taiwan Folk Village

Taiwan Folk Village is an international-level, diversified comprehensive leisure resort integrating seven major themes: Taiwanese history, historical sites, folklore, culture, education, amusement, and leisure. It is located in a valley on the eastern Bagua Plateau in Huatan Township, Changhua County, and is one of the attractions within the Bagua Mountain Buddha Recreational Area of the Bagua Mountain Scenic Area. It was established in 1989 by the chairman of Jinjingshan Industrial Co., Ltd. and officially opened on December 11, 1993, covering a total area of 52 hectares.

The entrance gate of Taiwan Folk Village is modeled after the west gate of historic Changhua City (now the old Changhua City wall), and the three characters “慶豐門” (Qingfeng Gate) on the gate symbolize the resort’s entrance and serve as its spiritual emblem. The park is divided into several zones: Visitor Service Area, Yesterday Taiwan Area, Today Taiwan Area, Nature Education Area, Mountain Scenic Area, Time-Space Theater Area, and Leisure Resort Area. Among these, the Xiaoyue Mountain Villa Leisure Resort Hotel has 132 rooms, making it an ideal choice for fixed-point travel in central Taiwan.

Visitors should note that due to poor management, Taiwan Folk Village was acquired by Huang Ailun, head of Dafoshan Co., Ltd., who obtained the debt rights for over NT$1.56 billion. After the property transfer was completed at the end of October 2011, the site has been operated by Dafoshan Co., Ltd. Currently, except for film crews, the park is temporarily closed to the public, but Xiaoyue Mountain Villa remains in normal operation.
