Family Fun in Changhua: Let parent-child pairs learn and develop five essential abilities through travel games. On the 20th, the Changhua County Government launched its new book “Family Fun in Changhua: Cultivating Great Abilities,” which features 60 experiential tourist attractions across the county. The publication calls on families to join hands and explore the endless charm of Changhua while having fun.

The book includes 60 attractions such as leisure farms and visitor centers, and features articles written by five well-known parent-child bloggers—including “Rice Mom” and Hong Shuqing—based on their firsthand visits. These offer a fresh parent-child travel perspective to guide readers through Changhua. Wu Shih-chang, chairman of the Changhua County Tourism Industry Association, also led association members at the event, welcoming visitors from across the country to experience deep and meaningful parent-child tours in Changhua.

Deputy Magistrate Lin Ming-yu noted that Changhua may be low-key, but it’s full of substance. In recent years, the number of visitor centers in the county has grown rapidly. The book provides an in-depth look at the culture, tourist attractions, and unique natural and geographical landscapes of each area, allowing readers to explore Changhua and introduce children to the hardworking people who call this land home.

The entire book was edited with support from CommonWealth Magazine, breaking away from traditional travel guide formats by integrating tourism with experiential education. It aims to help children develop five core abilities during their Changhua adventure: Adventure Skills (through local cultural learning), Experiential Skills (via farming activities), Aesthetic Sensibility (through historical sites), Focus (by creating hands-on projects), and Critical Thinking (by understanding the origins of various crafts). The book also helps strengthen parent-child bonds and create lasting childhood memories.

In addition to an exclusive preview of the book’s contents, the launch event invited Changhua tourism businesses to set up booths. Over 10 visitor centers and leisure farms showcased the county’s rich tourism resources, transforming the venue into a one-day pop-up mini market where they shared craft creations and specialty goods, offering a taste of the excitement of Changhua tourism. Limited-time early downloads and trial reads of the book’s Taiwan Mobile myBook e-book edition were also available on the day.
