The Flower Expo Changhua Week started on February 14, which was also Valentine’s Day, drawing numerous couples to admire the blooms and strengthen their bonds. Organizers handed out 8,000 roses to park visitors, and Changhua County officially launched the event with a lively lion dance performance by the Futian Lion Dance Troupe.

During the Changhua Week, in addition to half-price admission for residents of Changhua County, street performers entertained visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 AM daily at the Flower Dream Plaza in the New Life Park area. Moreover, in celebration of the upcoming Lantern Festival, the Changhua County exhibition area at Dajia Riverside Park was decorated with lanterns, and on the 17th, 1,500 intricately designed lanterns were given to flower expo visitors.

Changhua County Magistrate Cho Po-yuan stated: “As Changhua is the main production hub for flowers and nursery plants in Taiwan, many unique floral arrangements and potted plants can only be seen in the Dajia Changhua Flower Exhibition area.” The Flower Expo Operations Headquarters reminds the public that those who visited the “2011 Flowers in Changhua” event at Xizhou Park in Changhua during the Lunar New Year and received a “Changhua Week Discount Coupon” can enter the Flower Expo for free upon presenting their ID and the coupon. Visitors from other counties or cities can also enjoy a 50% discount on Flower Expo tickets with the same coupon. During Changhua Week, there is also a “Visit the Flower Expo and Win Changhua Travel Vouchers” event, featuring prizes including 500 travel vouchers for Changhua County, accommodation vouchers for Tianwei Huasu Homestay, and the Deer Port Red House Motel, among others.
