The Museum of Sacred Art and Crypt serves as a patriotic education base.

The Museum of Sacred Art and Crypt is located behind the Ruins of St. Paul's, a landmark in Macau, and has long been one of the city's most famous attractions. Between 1990 and 1995, the government carried out a series of renovations at the site of the former St. Paul's Cathedral, and built this museum and crypt on the tomb of the founder, Father Alessandro Valignano, for visitors from around the world to explore.

The museum is mainly divided into four levels, with beautifully designed exterior architecture and walls. It houses a rich collection, including special decorations, oil paintings, and sacred relics. These carefully selected representative exhibits showcase Macau’s Catholic heritage and religious artworks from the 16th to the 19th century. Among them, the “Saint Michael the Archangel” painting, the “Martyrs of Nagasaki in Japan,” and four works depicting the life of Saint Francis are particularly well-known.

As for the crypt, it is filled with a distinct sense of religious solemnity and also displays the remains of some martyrs. The most unique feature is a marble altar engraved with a cross and a tabernacle, which captivates every visitor, inviting them to pause and feel the sacred atmosphere.
