The Macao Light Festival kicks off on December 3, featuring three spectacular light shows!

The 2017 Macao Light Festival begins on December 3 and will be held at several well-known attractions. Now in its third year, the festival not only includes light sculpture performances, decorative light installations, and interactive games, but also offers a range of activities such as light and shadow visual art exhibitions, outdoor local music concerts, outdoor film screenings, and light-themed dinners. This year also introduces light-inspired cultural and creative products.

The “2017 Macao Light Festival – Love Fills the City, Love on the Road” will take place from December 3 to 31 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.(The final light sculpture performance of each evening starts at 9:50 PM). The opening ceremony “Starry Sky Prayer” will be held at 6:45 PM on December 3 at Ruins of St. Paul’s, kicking off the love story with a fantastical and beautiful performance. This year’s route centers around the Ruins of St. Paul’s, branching out into multiple routes leading to Senado Square, Nam Van Lake’s “Yamuna Lakefront” and the Nam Van Lake Water Sports Centre, the St. Dominic’s Church area, and the Camões Garden vicinity.

The entire Macao love story is divided into eight segments, each presented at a uniquely themed attraction, including “Embrace Integration” at Camões Garden, “Beacon of Life” at St. Anthony’s Church, “Compassion and Universal Love” at St. Dominic’s Church and Rua da Madre de Deus, “Boundless Love” at the Ruins of St. Paul’s, “Light and Shadow Playground” at Yamuna Lakefront, “Flower Sea Labyrinth” at the Nam Van Lake Water Sports Centre, “Love from the Heart” at Senado Square, and “Happy Home” at Taipa Houses–Museum.

Details of the three major light sculpture performances

1. Ruins of St. Paul’s – “Boundless Love”

Performance time: Every evening from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM from December 3 (except the opening ceremony which starts at 6:45 PM on December 3), with one show every half hour, each lasting 8 minutes (suspended on December 24)

2. St. Anthony’s Church – “Beacon of Life”

Performance time: Starting at 7:00 PM on December 3 (the first projection on December 3 begins at 7:30 PM), with one show every half hour, each lasting 6 minutes (suspended on December 24 and 31)

3. St. Dominic’s Church – “Compassion and Universal Love”

Performance time: Starting at 7:00 PM on December 3 (the first projection on December 3 begins at 7:30 PM), with one show every half hour, each lasting 6 minutes and 30 seconds (suspended at 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM on Saturdays and December 7; only two shows at 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM on December 15).
