The A-Ma Temple of Rua do Cunha, Macau

The A-Ma Temple of Rua do Cunha in Macau is backed by Camões Park and consists of a cluster of temples built along the hillside. It is the largest and oldest Earth God temple in Macau. In addition to the main hall dedicated to the Earth God, it also houses the Hall of the Healing Spirit, the Hall of the Virgin Pioneer, the Water Moon Palace, among others, enshrining deities such as the Great God of Healing, Goddess of Li Mountain, Guanyin Bodhisattva, the Buddha, and the Mountain Guardian Taishan Shigandang.

The temple currently preserves several stone tablets from the Qing Dynasty. According to the inscriptions, the Earth God temple was originally built in the late Ming Dynasty, renovated during the Jiaqing era, and most recently refurbished in 2004. The Rua do Cunha A-Ma Temple is the temple of the Yongfu Ancient Society and is currently managed by the Rua do Cunha A-Ma Temple Charity Association and the Neighborhood Mutual Aid Association.
