Introduction

The Bronze Age rock carvings, estimated to be around 3,000 years old, are located beneath the Warwick Hotel along the coastline of Cheung Chau’s Tung Wan Beach. They were discovered in 1970 by geologists. The carvings feature two sets of designs, each consisting of several curved lines encircling small grooves. The second set of carvings was not fully exposed at the time of discovery; it required small-scale excavation before its full form could be revealed.     Transportation

1. You can take a ferry from Central. Ferry operating hours: 【Central to Cheung Chau】 Monday to Saturday 00:30–23:45, Sundays and holidays 00:30–23:55. 【Cheung Chau to Central】 Monday to Saturday 02:20–23:45, Sundays and holidays 02:20–23:30. Fares: On weekdays and Saturdays, slow ferries (1-hour journey) cost HK$11.3 for standard seats and HK$17.8 for deluxe seats; fast ferries (35-minute journey) cost HK$22.2. On Sundays and holidays, slow ferries cost HK$16.7 for standard seats and HK$26 for deluxe seats; fast ferries cost HK$32. 2. On Saturday and holiday afternoons, you can also take a fast ferry between Tsim Sha Tsui and Cheung Chau, with fares at HK$32. After disembarking, walk through Haipang Street, go straight along Tung Wan Road, turn right onto Police Path, continue to Cheung Chau Stadium, then walk two to three minutes along Cheung Chau Sports Road.
